Глава 14

1 На втором году правления израильского царя Иоаша, сына Иоахаза, царем стал Амасия, сын иудейского царя Иоаша.

2 Когда он стал царем, ему было двадцать пять лет, и правил он в Иерусалиме двадцать девять лет. Его мать звали Иегоаддань, она была родом из Иерусалима.

3 Он делал то, что было правильным в глазах Господа, но не так, как его предок Давид. Он во всем следовал примеру своего отца Иоаша.

4 Лишь святилища на возвышенностях не были уничтожены, и народ продолжал приносить там жертвы и возжигать благовония.

5 После того как царство утвердилось в его руках, он казнил своих приближенных, которые убили царя, его отца.

6 Но сыновей убийц он не предал смерти, поступив по написанному в книге Моисеева Закона, где Господь повелел: «Отцов нельзя предавать смерти за детей, и детей нельзя предавать смерти за отцов. Пусть каждый умирает за свой собственный грех».

7 Это он разбил десять тысяч эдомитян в Соляной долине и завоевал город Селу, назвав его Иоктеил, как он называется и по сегодняшний день.

8 Амасия послал гонцов к израильскому царю Иоашу, сыну Иоахаза, внуку Ииуя, с вызовом: — Выходи, встретимся лицом к лицу!

9 Но Иоаш, царь Израиля, ответил Амасии, царю Иудеи: — Ливанский чертополох как-то послал сказать ливанскому кедру: «Отдай свою дочь за моего сына». Но прошел дикий ливанский зверь и вытоптал его.

10 Да, ты разбил Эдом и теперь возгордился. Славься своей победой, но оставайся дома! Зачем тебе искать беды, чтобы пасть и тебе, и Иудее вместе с тобой?

11 Но Амасия не послушался, и Иоаш, царь Израиля, двинул на него свои войска. Он и Амасия, царь Иудеи, встретились лицом к лицу в битве под Бет-Шемешем, что в Иудее.

12 Иудея была наголову разбита Израилем, и каждый бежал к себе домой.

13 Иоаш, царь Израиля, взял царя Иудеи Амасию, сына Иоаша, внука Охозии, в плен под Бет-Шемешем. Затем Иоаш двинулся к Иерусалиму и разрушил городскую стену от ворот Ефрема до Угловых ворот — участок длиной в четыреста локтей.

14 Он забрал все золото и серебро, и все вещи, найденные в доме Господа и в сокровищницах царского дворца. Еще он взял заложников, а затем вернулся в Самарию.

15 Что же до прочих событий правления Иоаша, того, что он сделал, о его доблести и о том, как он воевал с Амасией, царем Иудеи, то разве не записаны они в «Книге летописей царей Израиля»?

16 Иоаш упокоился со своими предками и был похоронен в Самарии с царями Израиля. Иеровоам, его сын, стал царем вместо него.

17 Амасия, сын царя Иудеи Иоаша, пережил Иоаша, сына Иоахаза, царя Израиля, на пятнадцать лет.

18 Что же до прочих событий правления Амасии, то разве они не записаны в «Книге летописей царей Иудеи»?

19 Против Амасии в Иерусалиме составили заговор, и он бежал в город Лахиш, но за ним послали в Лахиш и убили его там.

20 Его привезли назад на конях и похоронили с его предками в Иерусалиме, Городе Давида.

21 А народ Иудеи взял Азарию, которому было шестнадцать лет, и сделал его царем вместо его отца Амасии.

22 Это он отстроил порт Элат и вернул его Иудее после того, как Амасия упокоился со своими предками.

23 На пятнадцатом году правления Амасии, сына иудейского царя Иоаша, царем в Самарии стал Иеровоам, сын израильского царя Иоаша и правил сорок один год.

24 Он делал зло в глазах Господа и не отвернулся ни от одного из грехов Иеровоама, сына Навата, к которым тот склонил Израиль.

25 Это он восстановил границы Израиля от Лево-Хамата до моря иорданской долины, по слову Господа, Бога Израиля, изреченному через Его слугу Иону, сына Амиттая, пророка из Гат-Хефера.

26 Господь видел, как жестоко страдают в Израиле все — от раба до свободного, не было никого, кто пришел бы им на помощь.

27 И так как Господь не говорил, что искоренит имя Израиля из поднебесной, Он спас их через Иеровоама, сына Иоаша.

28 Что же до прочих событий правления Иеровоама, всего, что он сделал, и его свершений, включая то, как он воевал и вернул Израилю и Дамаск, и Хамат, которые принадлежали Иудее, то разве не записаны они в «Книге летописей царей Израиля»?

29 Иеровоам упокоился со своими предками, царями Израиля, а Захария, его сын, стал царем вместо него.

2 Kings

Chapter 14

1 IN the second year of Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz king of Israel, Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah, began to reign.

2 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.

3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father; he did according to all things that Joash his father did.

4 But the temples of idols he did not remove, and the people still were sacrificing and burning incense on the altars on the high places.

5 And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was firmly in his hand, he slew his servants who had slain King Joash his father.

6 But the children of the murderers he did not kill, according to that which is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

7 He slew of Edom in the valley of Salt twenty thousand, and destroyed Selah by war, and called the name of it Nakthael, which is its name to this day.

8 Then Amaziah king of Judah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come let us look one another in the face.

9 And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give your daughter to my son to wife; and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon and trod down the thistle.

10 You have indeed smitten Edom, and your heart has lifted you up; glory in this, and tarry at your house; for why should you stir up trouble, so that you should fall, even you, and Judah with you?

11 But Amaziah would not listen to him. So Jehoash king of Israel and Amaziah king of Judah went up and they faced each other at Beth-shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

12 And Judah was defeated before Israel; and they fled every man to his tent.

13 And Jehoash king of Israel captured Amaziah king of Judah at Beth-shemesh, and he entered Jerusalem and broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.

14 And he took all the gold and silver and all the vessels that were found in the house of the LORD and in the treasures of the king's house, and hostages, and returned to Samaria.

15 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash and all that he did and his might and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

16 And Jehoash slept with his fathers and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his stead.

17 And Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years.

18 And the rest of the acts of Amaziah, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.

19 Now they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem; and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish and slew him there.

20 And they brought him on horses; and he was buried in Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.

21 Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king instead of his father Amaziah.

22 He built Elath and restored it to Judah, and after that the king slept with his fathers.

23 In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah, Jeroboam the son of Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz king of Israel, began to reign in Samaria, and he reigned forty-one years.

24 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD; he did not turn aside from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin, and he walked in them.

25 He restored the frontier of Israel from the entrance of Hamath as far as the sea of the plain, according to the word of the LORD God of Israel which he spoke by his servant Jonah, the son of Matai, the prophet, who was of Gath-hepher.

26 For the LORD saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter; for there was no one in power, and there was no one to help Israel.

27 And the LORD did not say that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven; but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz.

28 Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam and all that he did and his might, how he warred, and how he recovered Damascus and Hamath to Israel, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

29 And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers, with the kings of Israel; and Zachariah his son reigned in his stead.

1 IN the second year of Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz king of Israel, Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah, began to reign.

2 Когда он стал царем, ему было двадцать пять лет, и правил он в Иерусалиме двадцать девять лет. Его мать звали Иегоаддань, она была родом из Иерусалима.

2 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.

3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father; he did according to all things that Joash his father did.

5 And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was firmly in his hand, he slew his servants who had slain King Joash his father.

6 Но сыновей убийц он не предал смерти, поступив по написанному в книге Моисеева Закона, где Господь повелел: «Отцов нельзя предавать смерти за детей, и детей нельзя предавать смерти за отцов. Пусть каждый умирает за свой собственный грех».

6 But the children of the murderers he did not kill, according to that which is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

7 He slew of Edom in the valley of Salt twenty thousand, and destroyed Selah by war, and called the name of it Nakthael, which is its name to this day.

8 Then Amaziah king of Judah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come let us look one another in the face.

9 Но Иоаш, царь Израиля, ответил Амасии, царю Иудеи: — Ливанский чертополох как-то послал сказать ливанскому кедру: «Отдай свою дочь за моего сына». Но прошел дикий ливанский зверь и вытоптал его.

9 And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give your daughter to my son to wife; and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon and trod down the thistle.

10 Да, ты разбил Эдом и теперь возгордился. Славься своей победой, но оставайся дома! Зачем тебе искать беды, чтобы пасть и тебе, и Иудее вместе с тобой?

10 You have indeed smitten Edom, and your heart has lifted you up; glory in this, and tarry at your house; for why should you stir up trouble, so that you should fall, even you, and Judah with you?

11 Но Амасия не послушался, и Иоаш, царь Израиля, двинул на него свои войска. Он и Амасия, царь Иудеи, встретились лицом к лицу в битве под Бет-Шемешем, что в Иудее.

11 But Amaziah would not listen to him. So Jehoash king of Israel and Amaziah king of Judah went up and they faced each other at Beth-shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

12 Иудея была наголову разбита Израилем, и каждый бежал к себе домой.

12 And Judah was defeated before Israel; and they fled every man to his tent.

13 Иоаш, царь Израиля, взял царя Иудеи Амасию, сына Иоаша, внука Охозии, в плен под Бет-Шемешем. Затем Иоаш двинулся к Иерусалиму и разрушил городскую стену от ворот Ефрема до Угловых ворот — участок длиной в четыреста локтей.

13 And Jehoash king of Israel captured Amaziah king of Judah at Beth-shemesh, and he entered Jerusalem and broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.

14 Он забрал все золото и серебро, и все вещи, найденные в доме Господа и в сокровищницах царского дворца. Еще он взял заложников, а затем вернулся в Самарию.

14 And he took all the gold and silver and all the vessels that were found in the house of the LORD and in the treasures of the king's house, and hostages, and returned to Samaria.

16 And Jehoash slept with his fathers and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his stead.

17 Амасия, сын царя Иудеи Иоаша, пережил Иоаша, сына Иоахаза, царя Израиля, на пятнадцать лет.

17 And Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years.

18 And the rest of the acts of Amaziah, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.
